Czech Companies Ready To Supply Equipment For Repairing Ukrainian HPP, TPP

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Economy stated this on its website, following a meeting between Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Oleksii Sobolev and the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Ukraine, Lubos Vesely.

It is noted that the parties discussed possible financial instruments to encourage Czech investors in Ukraine, which may be available within the framework of intergovernmental cooperation. Privatization, including partial privatization, was identified as one of the promising areas.

"Czechia has successful experience in managing energy assets in which the state remains the owner but attracts private capital. Czech partners are ready to provide Ukraine with technical expertise on this issue. In addition, we expect a visit from a Czech government delegation next year. We hope to deepen the cooperation, which is already practical and substantial," Sobolev said.

The ministry noted that a visit of representatives of major Czech businesses to Ukraine is also planned, including to the Dnipropetrovsk region, which Czechia supports.

They also discussed the possibility of launching a mechanism for direct financing of reconstruction projects through the Czech Development Bank (NRB). The creation of an instrument similar to the cooperation model with Poland's BGK is also under consideration. The meeting also addressed industrial recovery. Czech manufacturers with expertise in hydropower and mechanical engineering are ready to supply the necessary equipment for the repair of Ukrainian hydropower plants and thermal power plants. The format of an "Industrial Ramstein" was also discussed - cooperation that involves not only the supply of equipment but also the creation of joint production chains.

As reported, Ukraine and Czechia have agreed to accelerate the signing of an intergovernmental agreement (G2G), which will help implement reconstruction projects in Ukraine and attract 188 million euros in loan guarantees.
