Political Prisoner Tofik Abdulhaziiev Diagnosed With Brain Tumour
According to her, during a phone call, Abdulhaziiev stated that he had been informed about the tumor by Olga Angold, the head of the medical unit. She also noted that the Crimean Tatar had been scheduled for an appointment with a neurosurgeon to determine whether the tumour is malignant or benign.
“Now we will wait for him to be taken to the neurosurgeon, and for the doctor's assessment. I am very worried about Tofik. I suspected something like this as soon as he said that he had suddenly begun to lose his sight,” Kurtametova said.
As reported, Tofik Abdulhaziiev has been in the hospital since March 2024. He was diagnosed with disseminated pulmonary tuberculosis with involvement of the intrathoracic lymph nodes.
Read also: Murder of Territorial Recruitment Center serviceman in Lviv: Suspect is in custodyIn April of that year, he was transferred to the intensive care unit, where several severe conditions were identified: bilateral pneumonia, a small left-sided hydrothorax (fluid in the lungs), anaemia, connective tissue dysplasia syndrome with involvement of the mitral valve, chronic heart failure, gastritis, and nephrolithiasis (kidney stones).
It was later reported that Abdulhaziiev is also losing his vision in the Chelyabinsk prison hospital.
