Maggie Hall

Maggie Hall is a social worker and criminal lawyer who writes about criminal justice. The Lived Sentence, based on interviews with 30 long term prisoners in NSW prisons about their perception of sentencing and imprisonment was published by Palgrave McMillan in 2017. Since then, she has written about co-production and working with people with lived experience of the criminal legal system. Her current research investigates how remorse is assessed by sentencing report writers.
