Doha, Qatar: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs H E Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanem concluded yesterday, a three-day official visit to the Republic of Rwanda.

The visit included a meeting with President of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and Mufti of the Republic of Rwanda H E Sheikh Musa Sindayigaya, in addition to a series of meetings and engagements with senior officials and relevant religious and community institutions.

The visit came within the framework of strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries and supporting joint projects in the fields of endowments and Islamic affairs.

The visit aimed to follow up on existing and proposed endowment and religious projects, review the status of Islamic institutions in Rwanda, and explore prospects for cooperation with official bodies responsible for religious and endowment affairs, in order to enhance the role of Islamic work and contribute to the development of local communities.

During the visit, His Excellency reviewed several sites and endowment and religious projects, and was briefed on the needs of Islamic institutions and the services provided to the Muslim community.

He affirmed Qatar's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote the values of moderation, coexistence, and the development of religious education. His Excellency also held meetings with officials in the Rwandan government and several religious leaders from the Rwandan Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

The meetings addressed areas of mutual cooperation and ways to expand them in a manner that serves common interests and supports development efforts related to endowments and Islamic affairs.

This visit comes as part of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs' efforts to strengthen its international partnerships, advance endowment work, and support religious institutions in Muslim communities around the world.
