RBI's NSFI 202530 Outlines 47 Action Points To Strengthen Financial Inclusion In India
The document was formally unveiled by RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra.
The new strategy outlines a coordinated, ecosystem-driven approach aimed at enhancing last-mile access to financial services and ensuring their consistent and effective use.
Centred around five strategic objectives-termed Panch-Jyoti-the NSFI 2025–30 identifies 47 action points to deepen financial inclusion over the next five years.
The Panch-Jyoti pillars include: expanding the availability and usage of equitable, responsible and affordable financial services for households and micro enterprises; embedding a gender-sensitive framework to promote women-led inclusion and strengthen the financial resilience of underserved segments; integrating livelihood, skill development and support systems with financial inclusion efforts; leveraging financial education to encourage financial discipline; and enhancing the reliability of customer protection and grievance redressal mechanisms.
The blueprint has been prepared under the guidance of the Technical Group on Financial Inclusion and Financial Literacy (TGFIFL), after extensive consultations across the country.
Inputs were drawn from the Reserve Bank, the Department of Economic Affairs, the Department of Financial Services, market and financial regulators-including SEBI, IRDAI and PFRDA-as well as NABARD, the National Skill Development Corporation, and the National Centre for Financial Education.
The new five-year plan seeks to consolidate these gains while advancing the country's broader financial inclusion objectives.
