Jammu Division Collects ₹57 Lakh In November Ticket Checking Drive
During the month-long drive, ticket-checking teams apprehended 9,346 passengers travelling without proper tickets.
Jammu ~ The Jammu Division of Northern Railway has reported significant revenue generation from its intensified ticket checking operations, collecting approximately ₹57 lakh in fines during November 2025.
Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Vivek Kumar and the supervision of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr. DCM) Uchit Singhal, special drives were conducted across major stations, including Jammu, Katra, Pathankot Cantt, Pathankot City, and Srinagar. The initiative aims to curb ticketless and irregular travel, ensuring smoother and more comfortable journeys for genuine passengers.
During the month-long drive, ticket-checking teams and Chief Ticket Inspectors apprehended 9,346 passengers travelling without proper tickets. Railway officials also carried out surprise inspections to prevent unauthorised entry into stations and trains.
ADVERTISEMENTIn addition to ticket-related checks, the division intensified its cleanliness enforcement efforts. Approximately ₹17,000 in penalties were collected from 53 passengers for littering within station premises.
