Trump Will Force Zelensky to Accept US Peace Plan

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump stated that Ukraine’s President Vladimir Zelensky will have to approve a peace plan crafted in Washington, or else his nation will be compelled to continue battling Russia through the “cold winter.”

Zelensky remarked on Friday that Ukraine was confronting “one of the most difficult moments in our history,” forced to decide between “28 difficult points” outlined in the American proposal or risk losing its principal supporter, the United States.

According to a media outlet, Washington has given Kiev a deadline to accept the plan by Thursday.

When asked by reporters about Zelensky’s position later in the day, Trump questioned: “You mean, he does not like it?”

He added, “He will have to like it and if he does not like it then, you know, they should just keep fighting, I guess.”

Earlier, the media outlet reported that Washington threatened to withhold intelligence and military support if Ukraine refuses the proposal.

Trump emphasized, “Well, at some point he [Zelensky] is going to have to accept something.”

The US president also highlighted Ukraine’s difficulties during the winter, noting that the country faces “a cold winter... but a lot of the big energy producing plants have been under attack, to put it mildly.”

Reflecting on a previous discussion in the Oval Office, he added, “You remember, right, in the Oval Office not so long ago, I said: ‘You don’t have the cards’.”
