Govt Hosts Buyer-Seller Meet To Boost Market Access For Artisans
The event, held at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi, brought together artisans and industry representatives, strengthening market linkages and collaboration.
At the event, Amit Yadav, Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, underscored the central role of India's artisans as custodians of cultural heritage, describing their work as a living expression of national identity.
More than 20 artisans from marginalised communities participated in the meet, showcasing over 100 categories of handicraft products representing diverse regional craft traditions.
The platform enabled artisans to present their work directly to buyers and industry leaders, fostering long-term business prospects and highlighting the contribution of traditional crafts to India's creative economy and the broader vision of a self-reliant and inclusive Viksit Bharat.
Yadav said the Bharat TULIP platform reinforces the government's 'Vocal for Local' vision by helping artisans move 'from local to global', and emphasised the importance of providing them with entrepreneurial opportunities and sustainable livelihoods.
NBCFDC said Bharat TULIP continues to grow as a national initiative aimed at improving market access and strengthening the craft ecosystem.
Through various programmes, the corporation seeks to equip artisans with the visibility, resources, and support needed to compete effectively in today's markets.
The event also featured interactive sessions, live demonstrations, and B2B engagements, allowing buyers to understand the cultural context and craftsmanship behind the products.
