Nearly 50 Historical Artifacts Smuggling Attempt Foiled In Nimroz
ZARANJ (Pajhwok): Security forces have seized 48 historical artifacts along the Zaranj–Delaram highway in northwestern Nimroz province, an official said on Monday.
Mufti Habibullah Elham, director of Information and Culture, said the security forces discovered and confiscated the artifacts-belonging to various historical periods-and handed them over to the provincial museum on Monday.
He added that security agencies were working in close coordination to prevent the smuggling, destruction, or illegal sale of cultural and historical relics.
Elham emphasized that, according to a decree issued by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan's supreme leader, no one is allowed to smuggle or damage such artifacts.
