Pakistan, Jordan Reject Displacement Of Palestinians


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISLAMABAD, Nov 16 (KUNA) -- Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and visiting King of Jordan Abdullah II rejected any displacement of Palestinians and emphasized the need for a two-state solution.
This came during a meeting between both leaders at the President House in Islamabad, which focused on regional and international developments of mutual concern, mainly peace, stability and security in the Middle East, according to a press release by the Presidential House.
The two leaders called for the establishment of an independent, sovereign, viable and contiguous State of Palestine on pre-June 1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital, said the release.
On bilateral relations, both leaders reaffirmed the longstanding and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Jordan and underlined the importance of working together in multilateral forums and of promoting humanitarian and development cooperation, it said.
King of Jordan Abdullah II arrived in Islamabad on Saturday on a two-day state visit to Pakistan. (end)
