67 Women's Right Cases Resolved, 235 Mentally Ill Referred To ARCS: Movv

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue, Prevention of Vice, and Hearing Complaints (MoVV) said its officers addressed 67 cases related to women's Sharia rights this week and resolved 10 feuds and 28 disputes, both major and minor, among tribes and families across the country.

In a statement, the ministry said that as part of efforts to uphold Islamic values, promote peaceful coexistence, strengthen moral virtues, protect women's Sharia rights and identify mentally ill patients, it carried out extensive activities nationwide.

The ministry added that its officers identified 235 individuals with mental disorders in Bamyan and Daikundi provinces this week and referred them to the Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) offices in these provinces for treatment.

The 67 cases related to women's Sharia rights included 28 cases of oppression, 8 cases of inheritance deprivation, 7 forced marriages, 8 unpaid dowries, 5 unpaid alimonies, 5 marriage-related disputes, and 6 divorces.

According to MoVV, its officers also identified 7 professional thieves in several provinces and referred them to judicial authorities to ensure Islamic justice.
