• Senior Lecturer in Climate Justice, University of Bristol

I am a climate justice and climate policy expert. Focusing both on the global and local scale, I am interested in how just the response to climate change is and how we can ensure a just transition.

Originally from Vienna, Austria, I moved to the UK to study Politics and International Relations at the University of Sheffield in 2006. After a short time out to work for an NGO, I completed my PhD at the University in Sheffield in 2015 and started working at SPAIS the same year.

My research focuses on climate justice and climate policy. I have written about the global scale, comparing the UNFCCC to non-state actors such as C40 cities. I'm currently working on understanding just transition at the city scale.

My teaching focuses on applied political theory. I teach Theories of International Relations, Global Justice, and Philosopher Queens and take pride in making my classroom engaging and inclusive. I have won three University teaching awards in the last five years.

Outside of teaching and research, I try to use my knowledge to make an impact on society. I sit on the Bristol Advisory Committee on Climate Change and am the Associate Director for Impact and Innovation at the Cabot Institute for the Environment.
