Turkish VP calls on citizens to join “Green Homeland” initiative

(MENAFN) Türkiye has kicked off a nationwide afforestation initiative, with Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz urging citizens to participate in the “Green Homeland Mobilization,” as stated by reports.

Posting on the Turkish social media platform NSosyal, Yilmaz noted that Türkiye “has been one of the few countries worldwide to increase its forest cover over the past 23 years.”

He explained that the campaign seeks to plant millions of saplings across all 81 provinces, aligning with the nation’s environmental strategy for the “Century of Türkiye.” Yilmaz encouraged people to sponsor saplings through the official website, adding, “participants could leave their mark on the ‘Green Homeland’ and contribute to a greener future.”
