Dr Alexis Bergantz is a Senior Lecturer in Global & Language Studies in the School of Global, Urban and Social Studies at RMIT University. He is a historian of Australia's entanglements with France and the French Pacific. His first book, French Connection: Australia's Cosmopolitan Ambitions was published by NewSouth in 2021 and won the 2022 NSW Premier's Australian History Award. Alexis is a 2025 National Library of Australia Fellow, researching the history of the South Pacific Commission (now the Pacific Community).
