Doha, Qatar: Minister of Labour H E Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri has participated yesterday in the high-level session“Global Coalition for Social Justice Forum Moving from Commitment to from Commitment to Action: Advancing the Political Declaration on Social Development through Multi-Stakeholder Cooperation for Decent Work and Social Justice”.

The session, convened by the International Labour Organization (ILO) in partnership with Qatar, Switzerland and Brazil, is one of the flagship events of the ongoing Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha.

He emphasised that the Summit comes at a time of profound structural transformations worldwide, including rapid technological innovation, demographic shifts, and economic and environmental challenges affecting societal stability and equity. Dr Al Marri underscored that the Political Declaration on Social Development represents a renewed international pledge to combat poverty, expand social inclusion, and scale up decent work, urging a transition from commitment to implementation through multilateral partnerships centred on people.

Dr Al Marri affirmed that Qatar firmly believes that social justice is the cornerstone of stable and prosperous societies, a principle enshrined in the Qatar National Vision 2030, which aims to achieve balanced and sustainable human, social, economic and environmental development with people at the core of every policy.

He further noted that, under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar is pursuing an integrated development model based on a knowledge economy, equal opportunities, social empowerment, and fairness in the workplace.
