I have over 20 years of experience in higher education as a researcher, course lecturer, and academic administrator. My research expertise extends over the fields of economic history, economic development, and money and banking.
I have published work in leading academic journals including the Economic History Review, Journal of Development Economics, Explorations in Economic History, Economica, Journal of Population Economics, Kyklos, Economics Letters, and more. I have been a member of the editorial board of the Journal of International Development (2013-2018) and an external examiner for the University of Manchester (2018-2022). At the University of Glasgow, I have been director of MSc programmes in Development, P&DR Reviewer, REF impact champion and Co-Head of Subject.
