Head Of Ingushetia Sentenced In Absentia To Eight Years In Prison For Financing The War
Upon the public prosecution of the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office, the court delivered an in-absentia verdict against the Head of Ingushetia.
He was found guilty of financing actions aimed at altering the borders of the territory or the state border of Ukraine in violation of the Constitution (Part 3 of Article 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court imposed a sentence of eight years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
“Prosecutors proved that the official systematically directed funds and resources to support Russian occupation forces. Thus, on his orders, the Government of Ingushetia provided one-time payments to citizens who signed contracts with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation - ranging from 100,000 to 400,000 rubles,” the statement reads.

As reported, the current Head of the Republic of Ingushetia, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, is under sanctions imposed by the United States, the United Kingdom, and Ukraine.
