ICI, UN Women Advance Gender Equality In Industry

Irbid, Nov. 4 (Petra) –Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI), in cooperation with UN Women, on Tuesday held a specialized workshop on Gender-Responsive Representation (GRR).
The event was part of the implementation of the joint agreement to promote "fairer and more inclusive" work environments in the Kingdom's industrial sector.
Talking at the workshop, ICI President, Hani Abu Hassan, said the activity marks a "significant step" to achieving equality and equal opportunities, adding that women's economic empowerment and labor market participation are "key" pillars for a robust economy and sustainable development.
In turn, UN Women representative, Layla Al-Qasim, affirmed the two sides' commitment to fostering workplaces that respect diversity and achieve gender balance, expressing pride in the partnership with the chamber.
Participants highlighted the workshop's role in promoting justice for women, enhancing intellectual diversity, and increasing productivity.
Additionally, they noted equal opportunities for women improve "institutional" performance and strengthens innovation and sustainability.
