Gulf Conf. On Cybersecurity Challenges Kicks Off In Kuwait

KUWAIT, Nov 4 (KUNA) -- The sixth Gulf Conference on Cybersecurity Challenges, held under the slogan "Secure Digital Environment", began on Tuesday in Kuwait under the patronage of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Al-Sabah.
In a speech delivered on behalf of the patron, Head of the Human Resources and Information Technology Sector at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier Anwar Al-Yatama, stated that the conference is being held at a time when challenges in the field of cybersecurity are on the rise.
He added that cybersecurity has today become a fundamental pillar of national security and sustainable development.
Meanwhile, Head of the National Cybersecurity Center Eng. Abeer Al-Awadhi, said the conference continues the GCC's path of cooperation in confronting cyber threats and reflects Kuwait's commitment to its digital security and the stability of its electronic domain.
She added that the participation of distinguished experts and specialists in the conference sessions represents an important opportunity to exchange best practices and review the latest innovative solutions and technologies in the field of cybersecurity.
She emphasized that the complex and rapidly evolving cyber challenges faced by the world require all of states and institutions to be highly prepared and ready to face these threats.
Al-Awadhi pointed to the importance of strengthening cooperation among the GCC states and integrating efforts to develop comprehensive national strategies capable of keeping pace with technological developments and tackling increasing cyber risks efficiently and effectively. (end)
