Xi Meets Russian Premier to Discuss Strengthening Ties


(MENAFN) Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday engaged in discussions with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Beijing, as reported by a news agency.

The session occurred at the Great Hall of the People, where the two officials explored bilateral matters, focusing on trade and economic collaboration.

Mishustin had arrived in China on Monday.

The previous day, he had also held a meeting with his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang during the 30th regular assembly of the China-Russia heads of government in the city of Hangzhou.

On Monday, Mishustin stated that “cooperation between Moscow and Beijing is strengthening despite turbulence in global politics and the global economy.”

Li, in response, remarked that “Beijing is willing to work with Moscow to enhance strategic communication, increase cooperation in various areas, and safeguard common development and security interests in an improved manner.”
