One In Four Apartment Buildings Damaged By Russian Attacks In Zaporizhzhia


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported this on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

"Every fourth apartment building and almost 2,500 private houses in Zaporizhzhia have been damaged as a result of enemy attacks," Fedorov said.

He noted that Russian forces attack the regional center almost daily. More than 1,200 apartment buildings have been damaged by shelling. Some high-rise buildings have suffered from blast waves and debris four to five times.

Twenty-five apartment buildings have sustained major damage or been partially destroyed, and 51 private houses have been completely destroyed. Fedorov specified that six apartment buildings have already been restored, seven are undergoing repair and reconstruction work, and six more are in the design and cost-estimation stage.

Following technical inspections, six buildings were deemed economically unfeasible to restore. Residents of those buildings are receiving certificates for new housing.

Fedorov emphasized that the state's eRestoration program is operating in the region, and together with the city authorities, eight aid packages have been developed for people whose homes were destroyed by Russia.

As Ukrinform reported, more than 11,000 customers in Zaporizhzhia remain without electricit following a Russian night attack.
