My writing and research is in the field of Comics Studies. I am currently writing a book on the life and work of Grant Morrison, the comic book writer, for the University Press of Mississippi's Biographix series. My PhD thesis analysed the representation of gender and the use of intertextuality in comic books and graphic novels written by Alan Moore.
I am a Student Learning Developer at the University of Law and a Visiting Lecturer in Learning Skills at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I am currently writing 'How to be Good at Academic Writing' for Sage Publications' Student Success series. This book is for new and inexperienced students who need to develop their writing skills while at university. I wrote 'Beat Your Writer's Block' (Sage, 2020) for the Super Quick Skills series, which gives students practical strategies to deal with writing anxiety and other writing-related problems. I also contributed content to Sage Skills Student Success, an interactive digital resource for students.
