Crimea Restricts Usage Of Messaging Apps

"The operation of the Telegram and WhatsApp messengers in the occupied Crimea has been partially restricted," the report says.

The press service of the largest Crimean telecom operator, Volna, stated that the restrictions were imposed by Roskomnadzor, Russia's communications watchdog. The measures apply to subscribers of all Russian mobile operators and internet providers. The so-called "Crimean Ministry of Communications" has recommended that residents switch to the Russian alternative, Max.

Earlier, Ukrinform reported that Crimea had been experiencing serious communication problem for several days.
