(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Centre for Empowerment and Care of the Elderly (Ehsan), one of the centres under the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, has officially inaugurated Kibar Al Qadr Majlis for men at Katara Cultural Village, in collaboration with Katara's administration and with support from Mwani Qatar as part of its corporate social responsibility initiatives.
The Majlis was inaugurated by the chief executive of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work Rashid Mohammed al-Nuaimi, in the presence of officials, representatives of supporting entities, and a distinguished group of senior citizens who expressed their appreciation for the initiative, which reflects the high regard for their role in society.
The Majlis aims to strengthen social bonds among senior citizens and reduce social isolation by providing an interactive space for dialogue, consultation, and experience-sharing.
It also supports their mental well-being through targeted programmes and activities tailored to their needs, offering events that align with their interests and capabilities, and building a community support network to enhance their quality of life and positive societal presence.
Ehsan Centre executive director Manal Ahmed al-Mannai stated on the occasion that they are pleased to inaugurate the Majlis in collaboration with Katara, as a living model of national partnerships that serve senior citizens and promote their well-being.
She emphasised that the Majlis embodies the vision of empowering seniors to maintain their active presence in society through environments that value their experiences and respond to their interests.
Mwani Qatar chief executive Captain Abdullah Mohammed al-Khanji remarked that they are proud to be part of this noble community initiative, which reflects values of appreciation and respect for the elderly and enhances their quality of life.
He noted that the launch of the Majlis at Katara, supported by Mwani Qatar, underscores the company's firm commitment to social responsibility and its dedication to contributing to initiatives that leave a positive and lasting impact on society.
Katara public relations and communications director Salem Mubkhout al-Marri stated that they, at Katara, are delighted to collaborate with Ehsan Centre in inaugurating the Kibar Al Qadr Majlis.
He noted that Katara has previously organised activities for Ehsan Centre members, demonstrating ongoing co-operation and support for their cultural and social initiatives.
The Kibar Al Qadr Majlis has been designed with a blend of authenticity and comfort, reflecting a vision that caters to the needs of senior citizens and brings them closer to the cultural life of the community. – QNA
