Madhya Pradesh Fast-Tracks Gem Procurement Adoption As Mses Receive Rs 27,851 Cr In Orders
In Bhopal, GeM CEO Mihir Kumar and Chief Secretary Anurag Jain discussed ways to strengthen Madhya Pradesh's procurement framework by enhancing transparency, inclusivity, and efficiency.
Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) from Madhya Pradesh have received orders worth Rs 5,523 crore from State buyers, Rs 2,030 crore from other States, and Rs 20,298 crore from Central buyers, reflecting the State's strong integration into the national procurement ecosystem.
The meeting reaffirmed GeM's mission to provide a unified, transparent, and technology-driven procurement system for Central and State entities, PSUs, and local bodies.
As part of its national strategy, GeM has intensified engagement with high-GMV States through senior-level meetings
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has also written to Chief Ministers urging alignment of State procurement rules with the General Financial Rules (GFR) and GeM General Terms and Conditions (GeM-GTC), and to the Home Affairs Ministry for ensuring procurement in Union Territories is routed through GeM.
Madhya Pradesh's participation in GeM continues to grow, with over 86,000 registered sellers from the State.
As GeM's cumulative Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) reaches record levels, its collaboration with Madhya Pradesh marks another step toward a more transparent, inclusive, and competitive public procurement system.
GeM reiterated its commitment to empowering small and emerging enterprises by fostering fairness, digital integrity, and equal opportunities across India's public procurement landscape.
