Exhibition Of Afghan Products Opens In Kazakhstan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) says an exhibition showcasing Afghanistan's products and industries has been inaugurated in Shymkent city of Kazakhstan.

In a statement, the ministry said the exhibition was officially opened in the presence of Minister of Commerce and Industry Nooruddin Azizi

The ministry said in a statement on Tuesday Minister of Industry and Commerce, Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin as well as traders and investors from both countries were present at the inauguration ceremony.

During the opening ceremony, Azizi appreciated the government of Kazakhstan for its cooperation in hosting the event, saying the purpose of the exhibition was to introduce Afghanistan's production capacities and products and strengthen trade and economic ties between Kabul and Astana.

He added Afghanistan, with its diverse range of products in agriculture, food industries, carpets, gemstones and construction materials, was ready to export to the markets of Kazakhstan and other regional countries.

Dozens of Afghan firms are taking part in the exhibition, which will continue until October 30.

Kazakh officials and traders also welcomed the event and stressed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation and establishing new trade routes between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan.
