Colm O'shea

Colm O'Shea is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of COMAC Capital LLP, a London-based global macro hedge fund he launched in 2006. COMAC was widely recognized for its strong performance during and after the financial crisis, becoming one of Europe's ten largest hedge funds before closing to outside investors in 2014. He has more recently become more active in impact investing and completed a Masters in Climate Change at UCL.
Before entering financial markets Colm worked as an analyst at Oxford Economics. At Citigroup he served as a Managing Director in Fixed Income, building proprietary trading businesses in both London and New York. He went on to run macro trading for Soros Fund Management's Quantum Fund and later became a partner at Balyasny Asset Management LLP, founding their London office.
His trading insights were profiled in Market Wizards by Jack Schwager and Inside the House of Money by Steven Drobny & Niall Ferguson.
