
Education Ministry Honours 138 Top Graduates Of 'Tamouh' Programme For Attracting Students To Teaching Profession
Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education held a ceremony yesterday to honour the outstanding students graduating from the“Tamouh” programme, an internal scholarship initiative aimed at attracting Qatari students to the teaching profession and preparing them to become qualified educators in the future.
The event was attended by Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater. Undersecretary of the Ministry Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al Nuaimi, honoured 138 participants across various educational specialisations in recognition of their academic excellence and achievements, and to encourage them to continue their dedication and distinction.
The ceremony took place in the Ministry's theatre hall, with the presence of senior ministry officials and academic leaders from Qatar University and Lusail University, including Dr. Aisha Al Kaabi, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at the College of Education; Dr. Latifa Al Mughaisib, Head of the Department of Art Education at the college; Dr. Fatima Al Mosleh, Vice President for Student Affairs at Lusail University; and Dr. Talila Al Kuwari, Director of Student Life at the university, alongside the students' parents and relatives.
In his speech during the ceremony, Dr. Harib Mohammed Al Jabri, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs, congratulated the graduates on their achievements, emphasizing that“minds are the true wealth, and nations are built only by the hands of their dedicated citizens, with their renewed thinking and continuous creativity.”
He explained that“the Tamouh programme is not merely an academic programme but a national vision for self-discovery, leadership development, and capacity building,” noting that“today's graduates embody this vision in tangible reality, with each one representing a success story through their effort and perseverance, serving as living proof that investing in people is the greatest investment in the nation's future.”
The“Tamouh” programme is one of the strategic internal scholarship programmes implemented by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education. It aims to attract Qatari students to the teaching profession and prepare them to become qualified teachers by sponsoring their studies in accredited local universities.
