Dr. Justin Vovk is a royal historian who has just completed his PhD in history at McMaster University. His dissertation, "Court Death: Aristocrats and the Symbolism of Dynastic Authority at Habsburg and British Royal Funerals, 1694-1780," examines the role of courts in the pomp and pageantry of royal funerals. He is the author of the award-winning "Imperial Requiem: Four Royal Women and the Fall of the Age of Empires." He was a contributing writer to the European Royal History Journal and his articles have appeared in The National Post and The Conversation.

Justin is an expert in European royal history and has been interviewed by numerous media outlets, including CBC, CTV, The Canadian Press, Global News, The Toronto Star, PBS News Hour, La Presse, CHCH, CFRA 580 Ottawa, CKLW AM 800 Ottawa, AM 1100 Kelowna, 610 CKTB Toronto, 630 CHED Edmonton, and QR Calgary Radio. He is also a regular commentator for CBC's "The Royal Fascinator." His expertise focuses on the ceremonies and rituals of monarchy, particularly funerals and coronations, and their applicability to our modern world.
