Dr Alex Lenferna is a Research Fellow at the Fort Hare Institute of Social and Economic Research at the University of Fort Hare. His research focuses on a transformative climate justice agenda, and aims to produce a range of publicly accessible scholarship to help deepen public understanding, education and mobilisation. The heart of Alex's work is scholar-activism, research that works to serve and be part of movements building a better, more just world. Alex is a first generation South African whose family hails from the small island nation of Mauritius. He has dedicated over sixteen years to research, writing, teaching, and activism on environmental and social justice, with a strong focus on energy and climate justice issues.
