(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Dmytro Lykhovii, a spokesperson for the Main Communications Directorate of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said this in a comment to Ukrinform.

"In the city of Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, counter-sabotage measures by the Ukrainian Defense Forces are underway. As of October 14, the enemy had concentrated slightly more than 80 personnel in the city. Our troops are preventing any increase in that number by eliminating enemy infantry attempting to break into Kupiansk," Lykhovii said.

He added that Ukrainian special forces units, Military Law Enforcement Service personnel, mechanized and infantry detachments, as well as UAV operators, are conducting search-and-strike missions in various parts of the city, targeting and destroying identified enemy positions.

"As a result, three occupiers were neutralized over the past day," Lykhovii said.

According to him, the operations in Kupiansk involve units of the 127th Heavy Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, as well as the Special Operations Forces, Military Law Enforcement Service, and the Security Service of Ukraine.

"The Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing everything possible to clear Kupiansk of Russian invaders and prevent enemy infantry from building up in the city," he said.

At the end of September, General Staff spokesperson Andrii Kovaliov stated that Kupiansk remained under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, although Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups continued attempting to infiltrate the city.
