In September, Dubai Police announced that it impounded 1,387 abandoned vehicles during the first half of 2025.

In the same period, 6,187 warnings were issued across residential , commercial, and industrial areas of the emirate.

Got a dirty car? Leaving it unwashed in a public space for a long time could get the driver a fine of Dh500. After authorities issue a warning, if the car is not cleaned within a 15-day period, it can be impounded.

Across the country, authorities take action when motorists act in reckless behaviour. Last month, Sharjah seized 100 vehicles and 40 motorcycles across the city due to illegal modifications.

Sharjah Police acted through fixed checkpoints stationed across the emirate, along with mobile patrols that monitored illegally modified vehicles.

Such unlicensed modifications on vehicles, especially those that cause noise, are a violation, a nuisance to people, and a risk for other motorists.
