Srinagar- The Border Security Force (BSF) has drawn up a comprehensive winter strategy to counter infiltration attempts by Pakistan-based terrorists along the Jammu border, a top officer said on Friday.

Inspector General (IG) of BSF Jammu Frontier, Shashank Anand, said terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) are attempting to regroup after suffering heavy losses during Operation Sindoor earlier this year.

“In winter, fog poses the biggest challenge in the Jammu sector. Our jawans are on the highest alert, and we are fully prepared to foil any infiltration attempt from across the border,” Anand told reporters in Jammu.

He said Pakistan continues to push terrorists from various points along the border but has“failed in its nefarious designs.” The BSF, he added, is in close coordination with other security agencies to share intelligence and respond swiftly.

“There is no need for panic. Our forces are keeping a close watch on every movement across the border,” the IG said.

Referring to Operation Sindoor, Anand said India carried out missile strikes in May, destroying nine terrorist infrastructures, including major LeT and JeM camps, while the BSF neutralised several launch pads along the International Border and Line of Control.
