Kuwait Youth Public Authority: Investing In Youth Is Optimal Future Investment
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA))
AMMAN, Oct 6 (KUNA) -- Acting Director of the Public Authority for Youth in Kuwait Nasser Al-Sheikh affirmed on Monday that investing in youth is the best investment in the future of nations and a guarantee for their security, stability, and prosperity.
This came in a speech delivered by Al-Sheikh at the opening of the 12th meeting of the joint working group between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and Jordan in the field of youth, attended by representatives of the GCC General Secretariat and undersecretaries of the youth and sports ministries in the GCC countries and Jordan.
He noted that the Gulf-Jordanian cooperation in the field of youth has proven to be a strategic partnership that goes beyond the exchange of expertise to building real capacities and opening broad horizons for innovation and active participation in development.
He said this meeting comes in response to the directives of the leaders of the GCC countries and the Jordanian king who constantly emphasize that investment in youth is an investment in the future of our nations.
Al-Sheikh pointed out that this meeting is part of the activities related to Kuwait's presidency of the current session of the GCC.
He added that the joint initiatives and programs being discussed in the meeting represent a qualitative addition to the path of joint cooperation and reflect a deep awareness that youth development and empowerment benefit everyone, not just a single country.
He noted that the meeting aims to formulate practical initiatives that serve Gulf and Jordanian youth and translate the visions of the leaderships into tangible achievements that enhance the region's position as an active centre for development, creativity, and leadership.
He stressed that the upcoming phase will witness the development of practical programs and projects that reflect the spirit of true partnership and fulfill the aspirations of the youth in the GCC countries and Jordan.
For his part, Secretary-General of the Jordanian Ministry of Youth, Mazen Abu Al-Baqar, affirmed in his speech that the meeting reflects the commitment of the wise leaderships in Jordan and the Gulf countries to strengthening the path of Arab cooperation in youth-related fields, in a way that serves development and stability in the region.
He stated that Arab youth represent the most valuable wealth and the core of development in the region, pointing out that Jordanian-Gulf cooperation is a strategic investment in the future of younger generations through empowering them and qualifying them with knowledge, science, and skills.
He explained that Jordan has launched three modernization tracks, economic, political, and administrative, alongside national strategies aimed at enhancing youth participation and solidifying values of citizenship and belonging.
He affirmed that Jordan continues to implement the content of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on youth, peace, and security, which enshrines the pivotal role of youth in building more secure, just, and stable societies. (end)
