(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The General Staff said this in a post on Facebook , Ukrinform reports.

As part of efforts to reduce Russia's offensive potential and its capacity for missile and bomb strikes, Ukrainian forces targeted the infrastructure of the federal state enterprise Sverdlov Plant on the night of October 5-6.

The plant is one of Russia's largest producers of explosives and is capable of equipping almost all types of ammunition, including aviation and artillery shells, aerial bombs (including guided bombs), warheads for anti-tank guided missiles, engineering munitions, and air defense missile warheads. It also cooperates in the production of warheads for unified multi-service gliding munitions.

Multiple explosions and a fire were reported in the target area.

In addition, the capacities of JSC Marine Oil Terminal in Feodosia (temporarily occupied Crimea) were struck. The multifunctional technological complex handles the transshipment of oil and petroleum products from rail tank cars to sea vessels and back, as well as road transport, and is involved in supplying the Russian military.

The strike caused a large-scale fire at the facility.

There were also hits on an ammunition depot of a separate logistics battalion of Russia's 18th Combined Arms Army in Crimea, with damage assessments ongoing.

Earlier reports said that drones had attacked the Sverdlov explosives plant in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as the Klintsy thermal power plant in the Bryansk region. Local residents also reported a fire at an oil refinery in Feodosia following drone strikes.
