Over 1.6 Million Patients Receive Free Treatment Under Sehat Card Plus In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Dr. Saif

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information, Barrister Dr. Muhammad Ali Saif, has said that the current government has provided free medical treatment to more than 1.67 million patients under the Sehat Card Plus program during the past one and a half years.

He stated that a total of Rs57 billion has been spent so far on ensuring healthcare access for the public, while 276 patients have undergone advanced procedures such as kidney and liver transplants, bone marrow transplants, and cochlear implants through the program.

According to Dr. Saif, the Sehat Card Plus scheme offers free treatment at 158 hospitals across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and at 700 hospitals nationwide. The initiative also covers expensive procedures, including kidney and liver transplants, at no cost to the patients.

He added that through the Zwandun Card program, the provision of free medicines to OPD patients has already begun, starting from Mardan district, and the facility will soon be expanded to other districts of the province.

Dr. Saif described Sehat Card Plus as a true public welfare initiative, saying that millions of families are benefiting from quality and dignified healthcare. He reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to setting new standards in public service and providing the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with accessible, high-quality medical facilities.
