Emine Fidan Elcioglu is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on migration, political sociology, race, and citizenship, with particular attention to the intersection of immigration politics and grassroots activism. She is the author of Divided by the Wall: Progressive and Conservative Immigration Politics at the U.S.-Mexico Border (University of California Press), which was a finalist for the C. Wright Mills Award and received an Honorable Mention from the ASA's International Migration Section. Her work has appeared in leading journals such as Social Problems, Ethnic and Racial Studies, and Current Sociology, and has been featured in The Trace, The Toronto Star, and several podcasts. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
