Srinagar- A special commemorative conference was held at Amar Singh Club, Srinagar, bringing together leading intellectuals, academicians, and cultural figures of Kashmir to reflect on the life and teachings of the great 13th-century philosopher-poet Maulana Jalaluddin Rumi (RA).

The event celebrated Rumi's timeless message of love, humanity, and spiritual enlightenment. His poetry, originally written in Persian, continues to transcend cultures and faiths, inspiring people worldwide to embrace compassion, tolerance, and unity.

The conference featured a distinguished gathering of scholars, educationists, writers, lawyers, and other eminent personalities from the Valley, who deliberated on the enduring relevance of Rumi's philosophy in contemporary society. Speakers highlighted how his vision of love and human dignity provides guidance for fostering harmony, understanding, and mutual respect.

Advocate Zaffar A. Shah, Senior Counsel, said:”Rumi's poetry reflects the true spirit of Islam, emphasizing love, compassion, and justice. His words guide us toward kindness, respect for all humanity, and a closer connection with Allah.”

Prof. Mushtaq A. Siddiqi, Former Vice Chancellor, IUST, added:“Rumi's words touch the heart and unite people. They inspire love, kindness, and understanding, guiding us toward harmony, compassion, and inner peace.”
