Türkiye’s September Exports Hit Unprecedented USD22.6B
(MENAFN) Türkiye’s exports surged to an unprecedented $22.6 billion in September, marking a 3% increase year-on-year, Trade Minister Omer Bolat announced Thursday. Speaking at a press conference in Ankara, Bolat highlighted that the country’s annualized export figure also hit a historic peak, climbing 3.2% to reach $269.7 billion.
For the first nine months of 2025, Türkiye’s exports totaled $200.6 billion, reflecting a 4.1% rise compared to the same period last year. "In the first nine months of this year, we recorded a $8.3 billion increase in the overall exports compared to the same period of last year," Bolat said.
He further noted that during 20 of the past 28 months, Türkiye’s goods exports grew, hitting monthly record highs in 16 of those months.
On the import side, September saw an 8.8% year-on-year increase to $29.5 billion, pushing the foreign trade deficit sharply higher to $6.9 billion — a 33.4% jump annually. In the first three quarters, imports rose 11.8% to $67 billion, while the annualized foreign trade deficit climbed 13.5% to $89.3 billion in September.
Despite the widening deficit, Bolat stressed that Türkiye’s monthly foreign trade deficit decreased in 16 out of the last 28 months. "We reached the goods and services export target of $390 billion in September, which we set at the beginning of the year," he added.
