DOSC Launches Youth Development Week to Inspire the Next Generation of Sailors
(MENAFN- SOCIATE) Dubai Offshore Sailing Club (DOSC), the Middle East’s largest and longest-established sailing club, will host its Youth Development Week from 13–17 October. The initiative underscores DOSC’s commitment to developing future talent and positioning Dubai as a hub for youth sailing excellence.
As a fully accredited RYA Training Centre, DOSC delivers internationally recognised training under the Royal Yachting Association, the world’s largest sailing and boating training provider, with centres in 58 countries. This global standard ensures that young sailors in Dubai receive the same level of coaching and safety as their peers worldwide.
Pathways for every level
Youth Development Week offers a progression of courses designed to nurture skills and confidence at every stage:
Beginner (ages 6–13): A morning course (10am–1pm) introducing children to the fundamentals of sailing and sparking a lifelong passion for the water.
Junior RIB Club: Hands-on training in powerboating, led by qualified instructors. Two sessions are available: mornings (10am–1pm) for ages 10–13, and afternoons (2pm–5pm) for ages 12–16.
Delivered by certified RYA instructors and set against the vibrant backdrop of DOSC’s central Jumeirah Beach location, the programme combines world-class training with a fun and safe environment.
A cornerstone of DOSC’s training calendar
Alex Cociuban, DOSC’s Training Centre Manager, said:
“The Youth Development Week is one of the highlights of our training calendar, and we’re excited to welcome the next generation of sailors this October.”
Sailing’s future in the UAE
From its origins in the UAE’s maritime heritage to its present-day recognition as a dynamic sport, sailing is thriving in the region. DOSC’s youth initiatives play a vital role in ensuring this growth continues, nurturing young sailors who will represent the UAE on both regional and international waters.
By providing accessible training pathways backed by global standards, DOSC is helping to create a pipeline of future champions and reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading destination for sailing and maritime excellence.
