Ukrainian Rescuers Recognized As Most Powerful Among INSARAG Teams

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was announced at the Ukraine Media Center by Volodymyr Demchuk, Deputy Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine , according to Ukrinform.

“Participation in INSARAG has allowed the State Emergency Service of Ukraine to join the European network of rescuers without additional certification and to participate in emergency response operations around the world. Ukrainian specialists have gained extensive practical experience in wartime conditions, and international experts have recognized our team as the most powerful among all teams in the world,” he said.

It is noted that among the main advantages of Ukraine's participation in the INSARAG network are information communication on emergencies around the world, the acquisition of global standards and knowledge, inclusion in the European pool of forces and resources, and, most importantly, participation in disaster relief around the world.

The head of the Ukrainian team, Maksym Maievskyi, said that it consists of 67 core members and 67 reserve members who can perform all types of work.

Today, the International Advisory Group INSARAG is an international global network of managers, government officials, and non-governmental organizations that have come together to overcome the consequences of large-scale disasters around the world. The Ukrainian heavy-duty search and rescue team (HUSAR MRC Ukraine) underwent external recertification in accordance with INSARAG requirements in Gdańsk, Poland.

As reported, the Ukrainian heavy-duty team HUSAR MRC UKRAINE is part of INSARAG, the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group under the auspices of the UN. It is a global network of more than 90 countries that sets standards and coordinates the actions of rescue teams during large-scale disasters.
