UP Govt Assures Entrepreneurs Amid US Tariff Concerns, Pushes E-Commerce Growth: MSME Minister

(MENAFN- KNN India) Lucknow, Sep 29 (KNN) Uttar Pradesh MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan on Saturday said the state government had reached out to entrepreneurs concerned about the impact of US tariffs and assured them that no enterprise would be adversely affected.

Speaking at the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UP ITS) in Greater Noida, Sachan noted that delegations had visited industrial hubs such as Bhadohi, Mirzapur, and Kanpur to engage with business owners.

“Our complete effort was to ensure that no one's enterprise was affected. Uttar Pradesh is the growth engine of India. Our government's goal is to make UP an e-commerce hub of India,” he said, reported ET.

Addressing a session on 'E-Commerce: The New Frontier for Indian Exports', Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta highlighted the state's progress in expanding export opportunities.

He said the UP ITS would not only support entrepreneurs from the state but also benefit businesses across India, while creating investment prospects for young entrepreneurs.

Gupta emphasised that Uttar Pradesh's exports had more than doubled over the past eight years, rising from Rs 84,000 crore to Rs 1,86,000 crore.

He added that the state's Export Promotion Policy 2025–30 was designed to ease compliance for exporters and had been widely welcomed by industry stakeholders.

The ministers underscored the state's focus on supporting small enterprises and promoting the 'Local to Global'. They said efforts were underway to ensure that products from small entrepreneurs gain wider access to global markets.
