Jordan Field Hospital No. 7 Staff Members Rescue Child's Life

Amman, Sept. 26 (Petra)-- The Jordanian Field Hospital No.7 in Southern Gaza personnel saved the life of an 11-year-old youngster who had a penetrating wounded to his neck that caused damage to his trachea and larynx, preventing him from breathing.
The hospital force commander said: "The medical crews at the Jordanian Field Hospital, were able to save the child's life, thanks to a specialized medical team and the participation of operating and anesthesia technicians." He underlined that the skilled and knowledgeable medical and nursing staff is striving to offer the families and siblings in the Gaza Strip the finest medical, therapeutic, and humanitarian care possible.
The youngster had a penetrating injury to the neck and a substantial reduction in blood oxygen levels due to a tracheal injury, the pediatric surgeon explained after clinical examination and evaluation in the emergency room. He received emergency care right away and was taken to the surgery room. Shrapnel was removed and the entire wounded area examined. In order to preserve the ability to swallow and breathe in the future, the trachea, larynx, and lower pharynx were reconstructed. In order to monitor him and ensure he received the required therapy, he was admitted to the intensive care unit. Following a successful operation, the child resumed his regular activities.
