Doha, Qatar: The diplomatic community in Doha has voiced strong support for the speech delivered by Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the opening session of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York yesterday, with several ambassadors in Doha praising Qatar's leadership, commitment to peace, and steadfast defense of international law.

Envoys from several countries underscored Qatar's vital role as a trusted mediator and champion of dialogue, especially in the wake of the recent attack on Qatari territory. They highlighted H H the Amir's principled stance on Palestine, his call for a ceasefire in Gaza, and his broader vision for a rules-based international order grounded in diplomacy, justice, and humanitarian values.

Ambassador of UK to Qatar H E Neerav Patel:

I applaud Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, and his message of peace. His strong leadership has been a reliable constant, in a turbulent world. The State of Qatar is an unwavering champion of dialogue and a haven for diplomacy, even in the face of unacceptable attacks. It plays a vital role internationally and the United Kingdom stands in full solidarity.

Ambassador of Türkiye to Qatar H E Dr. Mustafa Göksu:

At the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the President of Türkiye, H E Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, delivered powerful and principled addresses underscoring the deep alignment between their nations on critical regional and global issues.

The speeches as a true reflection of Türkiye and Qatar's steadfast commitment to upholding principles and standing by what is right, while raising the voice of justice in a world plagued by double standards. Both addresses reflected a shared moral compass, a commitment to diplomacy, and an unwavering defense of human dignity in the face of escalating injustice.

Both leaders strongly condemned the ongoing atrocities in Gaza, denouncing Israel's deliberate targeting of civilians, journalists, and humanitarian workers.

H H the Amir decried the Israeli strike on Doha, describing it not only as a heinous attack targeting Qatar's sovereignty but also as an act of“state terrorism” and a direct assault on diplomacy.

President Erdoğan, in a powerful display of solidarity, again denounced Israel's aggression toward Qatar, calling it“shameful” and proof that“the Israeli government is completely out of control,” while praising Qatar's principled stance in the face of escalating threats.

H H the Amir reaffirmed Qatar's commitment to resolving conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine, Africa, and beyond, and that President Erdoğan praised Qatar's global mediation efforts as“essential,” extending Türkiye's appreciation for Qatar's tireless work to bring warring parties together and foster cooperation.

This recognition underscores the strategic alignment between Türkiye and Qatar in promoting peace through diplomacy, dialogue, and humanitarian leadership.

Ambassador of Italy to Qatar H E Paolo Toschi:

Italy welcomes the commitment to international law, to diplomacy and to mediation efforts by the State of Qatar, which continues to play a crucial role in fostering dialogue and preventing further escalation in the region. What happened on September 9 is unacceptable.

In Gaza we need a ceasefire, the liberation of all hostages and full access to humanitarian aid. Italy reaffirms that the principles of international law, the protection of civilians, and the pursuit of a two-state solution must remain at the core of all international initiatives on Palestine.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar H E Muhammad Aamer:

The speech of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the opening session of the United Nations General Assembly represents the conscience of the Arab and Islamic Ummah and reflects the shared sentiments of humanity against the continuing atrocities in Palestine. Pakistan fully aligns with H H Amir's vision of peace and stability in the region and beyond.

Pakistan reiterates its strong condemnation of the recent treacherous Israeli attack on a residential area in Qatar, which was a blatant violation of international law and a shocking act of aggression against a country that has consistently pursued peace and mediation. Such an act, committed while Qatar was engaged in sincere efforts to mediate for an end to the bloodshed in Gaza, amounts to nothing less than a betrayal of humanitarian values, international norms and diplomacy.

The extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit convened in Doha on September 14–15, 2025 under the leadership of H H the Amir was a historic moment of unity, in which the Ummah expressed its firm rejection of Israel's aggression and its solidarity with the people of Palestine. Pakistan pays tribute to Qatar for its decisive and principled leadership at this critical juncture.

We fully endorse H H the Amir's bold and principled stance at the UNGA for a rule-based international order, particularly his call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and for renewed commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the principles of justice and international legality.

Pakistan reiterates its complete solidarity with the brotherly State of Qatar. We stand shoulder to shoulder with Qatar in its efforts for peace, justice, and the protection of innocent lives.

Pakistan will continue to support Qatar's tireless mediation role as well as its broader vision to consolidate peace, security, sustainable development, human rights, and the rule of law at all levels.
