Gaza Bleeds: Israel's Barbaric Bombardment Kills Over 100 Civilians

(MENAFN) More than 100 Palestinians lost their lives Tuesday amid a fresh wave of Israeli military assaults across the Gaza Strip, according to medical officials cited by media.

At least 86 bodies were taken to hospitals in Gaza City alone, as Israeli airstrikes escalated in intensity, the sources reported. Additional fatalities included nine people killed in central Gaza and six in the southern region.

The surge in attacks coincided with Israel launching a new stage in its ground operation, targeting Gaza City as part of a broader effort to take full control of the area. Nearly one million Palestinians — the vast majority already displaced from elsewhere in the enclave — remain trapped under constant bombardment.

Since the outbreak of the conflict in October 2023, nearly 65,000 Palestinians have been killed, most of them women and children, according to figures attributed to the Israeli military campaign.

In a major development Tuesday, the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory issued a report concluding that Israel has committed acts of genocide in Gaza.

The commission concluded that Israel had carried out four of the five actions recognized under international law as constituting genocide, based on the criteria outlined in the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. These actions involve large-scale killings, infliction of serious physical or psychological harm, deliberate creation of conditions intended to destroy the Palestinian population in whole or in part, and efforts to prevent births within the group.
