Doha, Qatar: The draw for the 2025 Arabian Gulf Padel Championships Qatar was announced yesterday, ahead of the tournament's start today. The event, hosted by the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel and Badminton Federation, will be held at the Padel-In courts in Aspire Zone and will run until September 19. Teams from all Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries will compete.

In the men's draw, Saudi Arabia will go up against the UAE, Bahrain will play Kuwait, and Qatar will take on Oman.

The women's competition kicks off with Bahrain facing Oman, followed by a match between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. Qatar will then play against the UAE.

The championship features three main categories - men's, women's, and juniors - reflecting the sport's growing popularity in the region.

Each category will be played in a league format, with every team competing in three matches. A team must win two matches to secure the victory.

Qatar's men's team will field a full squad of eight players: Mohammed Saadoun Al Kuwari, Khaled Saadoun Al Kuwari, Mohammed Al Khenji, Hassan Wali, Rashid Nawaf, Meshari Nawaf, Rayan Al Jafari, and Ali Al Saadi. The team recently completed an intensive training camp in Spain under the guidance of Argentine coach Pablo Sisti, focusing on physical and technical readiness through strong friendly matches.

The women's team also includes eight players: Hanan Al-Abdulrahman, Maha Farmarzi, Salma Wali, Rawda Al-Abdullah, Maryam Al-Sulaiti, Hessa Al-Mutawa, Atlal Al-Abdulrahman, and Dana Al-Mudhahka.
