GCC Central Bank Governors Meet In Kuwait

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Sept 14 (KUNA) -- The Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK) hosted on Sunday the 85th Meeting of the Committee of the Governors of the Central Banks in the GCC Countries.
The meeting, chaired by CBK Governor Basel A. Al-Haroon gathered representative of the Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council, according to a CBK press release.
The meeting reviewed the latest developments of the financial and monetary situations in the Gulf region and beyond, as well as ways to enhance integration among the GCC central banks, the statement noted.
The agenda topics include the recommendations of the technical committee relating to payment system, auditing, the leveraging of hi-tech methods and cybersecurity, and the combat against money-laundering and terror financing.
The central bank governors also discussed the progress of cooperation with international partners, including the People's Bank of China and the European Central Bank, as well as international financial institutions. (end)
