Amman, Sep. 14 (Petra) – Secretary General of the Ministry of Government Communication, Zaid Nawasah, on Sunday inaugurated the third phase of the "Politics on Mic" project, featuring a practical simulation of the electoral process, digital production, preparation of electoral programs, and political content creation.
The project targets youth to boost political awareness and provide knowledge and skills for political engagement. It also empowers youth to produce media content reflecting their aspirations and enhancing their participation in partisan and political life. The first phase focused on constitutional and party-related knowledge, while the second phase developed public speaking, persuasion, and political debate skills.
The project includes a training program funded by the King Abdullah II Fund for Development through the Tamkeen Program for Supporting Political Projects and implemented by the Buklan Development Organization.
Nawasah said official discourse remains the primary reference for public opinion to obtain accurate and reliable information, noting that adherence to the national narrative shields society from rumors and misinformation while strengthening public trust. He underlined that unifying official messages creates full harmony in the national stance.
He detailed that hate speech poses a direct threat to societal peace and undermines national stability, which requires addressing it through a comprehensive system of legislation and regulations, in addition to awareness campaigns promoting respect, diversity, and coexistence.
Nawasah underscored that the Ministry of Government Communication plays a pivotal role by formulating and coordinating official media messages to ensure they reach citizens with clarity and transparency. He highlighted the launch of training initiatives for media professionals to raise awareness and enhance their skills.
He pointed out that adopting the official narrative does not restrict opinion or freedom of expression but establishes truth and accuracy as the foundation of public debate. He called on youth to embrace the national narrative and be voices of awareness and positive political engagement, stressing that countering malicious propaganda is achieved by repeating the truth in accessible language.
He stressed that the responsibility to confront hate speech and safeguard the national narrative is shared and that the media is a partner in delivering accurate information. Youth, he said, are active contributors to shaping the future, and their positive presence in public life revitalizes national discourse. He called for strengthening partnerships with universities and civil society institutions to build collective awareness protecting generations from media and intellectual targeting.
