Dr Dai O'Brien (BSC Hons, MSc, MRes, PhD, SFHEA) is deaf and bilingual in BSL and English. He is an Associate Professor in BSL and Deaf Studies in York St John University. His current research interests focus on how deaf people who use signed languages navigate the hearing world, both physically and socially. He's also particularly interested in creative, visual research methods which tap into the visucentrism of deaf people.
