Amy Eaglestone is a political scientist and democracy practitioner. She is currently finishing her PhD at the University of Birmingham and is a visiting Lecturer at Leiden University. Her research interests focus on comparative politics, (de)democratization, and political parties, and include but are not limited to political polarization, citizen participation, and democracy promotion. Her regional focus is Eastern Europe and the Former Soviet Union, Moldova and Georgia in particular. Before embarking on her academic journey, Amy held progressively responsible position within the field of democracy development, working for international development organizations and the United Nations across sub-Saharan Africa.
